Meet Valerie Walser, MA, LMFT...

Philosophy & Therapeutic Approach

My approach is collaborative. I believe in working together with clients to create a strong therapeutic alliance to help achieve desired therapeutic goals.

I enjoy working with children (as young as 7), adolescents, adults, and families struggling with navigating life transitions, including the transition to adolescence, parenting adolescents, and the transition to parenthood.

My background also includes helping adolescents with social skills and peer relationships. I have also spent time working with the elderly population in nursing homes. I have experience with two grief programs, and am familiar with helping both children and adults with the grief process.

I have found that family systems, experiential, and cognitive behavioral approaches promote the positive change my clients are seeking. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist. I have experience helping clients process traumatic experiences, including relational trauma. Whatever your life story or your reason for seeking help, we can work through it together.
