Chelsea Wilkes, MFT Intern

Meet Chelsea Wilkes, MFT Intern...

As a Couple and Family Therapy Intern, I aim to provide a safe and accepting space that supports healing through warmth, compassion and empathy. I enjoy supporting couples, families and individuals in reaching their therapeutic and personal goals by offering such a space to feel seen, heard and valued. I draw from Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), Collaborative therapy, Solution Focused therapy, and Narrative therapy. I am also completing Gottman Couple Therapy training.

I have received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with two minors in Art & Design and Environmental Studies from the University of Northern Colorado. I am continuing my education at Antioch University of New England where I am completing a Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy. From my work in Sociology, I developed a passion for understanding the intricacies of social systems and how these systems can ultimately influence human behavior and development. As such, I utilize family systems theory as a way of understanding what has contributed to a person’s development and perspective.
