Meet Ashtin Hines, LMHCA...

​

Ashtin is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. She received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Ashtin has experience working with children and adolescents as well as their families in school-based counseling services.

 

When working with children, teens, and adults she enjoys using both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a person-centered approach. CBT is a scientifically proven modality of therapy that allows the client to address negative thoughts that are in turn causing negative behaviors. During sessions, Ashtin will work with her clients to acquire new skills and to develop effective coping mechanisms. Ashtin is also a person-centered counselor, meaning she will work collaboratively with her clients, to explore their presenting issues and will approach counseling sessions from a place of empathy and unconditional positive regard. Ashtin also enjoys approaching counseling from a whole-body approach and includes mindfulness activities into her counseling.

 

Ashtin has clinical experience in treating: anxiety disorders, depressive/mood disorders, ADHD, trauma, self-harm and other behavioral concerns in children and teens. She also has extensive experience working with children on the Autism Scale. She enjoys working with children and their families to help create a better understanding of the child and their unique needs.

 

Ashtin will work with children, adolescents, and adults to help create positive relationships, restore positive thinking, and increase the client’s overall well-being.
